Continuing Legal Education

Dear Subscriber

1. We regret that our Benchmark Television Continuing Legal Education publication of 26 February 2016 was incorrect. It was a draft and someone pressed the wrong button. The below statement I agree with and it has also been vetted by our Senior Lawyer, Geoffrey Pike, who we are pleased to announce recently joined us.

2. Many of the profession have worked with Geoffrey over the years.

3. This letter identifies compulsory legal education categories across Australia and classifies our Benchmark Television presentations with reference to those categories.

THE CATEGORIES OF COMPULSORY LEGAL EDUCATION ACROSS AUSTRALIA ARE:

In New South Wales, Victoria, Western Australia, ACT, Northern Territory, Tasmania and South Australia:
• Ethics and professional responsibility
• Practice Management and Business Skills
• Professional Skills
• Substantive Law

In addition for our Queensland subscribers:
• Practice legal ethics
• Practice Management and Business Skills
• Professional Skills

Appearing below are all of our Benchmark Television productions, each classified with reference to these compulsory categories.

Geoffrey will make himself available to talk with practitioners concerning the various rules although plainly each practitioner bears a personal obligation to comply with the rules.

Warm regards
Alan Conolly for Benchmark
